    - Rotosound Swing bass 66 praise club -

So update on my recent experimentation with Roto's. A lot of people seem to like fresh Roto's and then not like them as much after the break in period, but not me! Quite the opposite. The longer the RS66LD's stay on my bass the better they feel and sound. After extensive playing with my band...

P or J most used on older traditional country ?

When I saw Charley Crockett a few years ago his bassist went back and forth with an upright and a jazz bass. And Charley's stuff is really traditional. That said most of the modern neo-traditional Country and Americana bands seem to be exclusively P bass / upright.

Hard time finding any info on this bass.

Good choice. The Ibanez is way less of a gamble and is a well known brand with a great reputation. Enjoy your new bass!

Hard time finding any info on this bass.

If this is a first bass I'd say no way, too many potential issues and the price is too high. If you're looking for something as a mod project offer $100 if you like it and if they say no walk away.

How important is tone variety to you for your arsenal

After mostly playing only a P with flats for 5 years I got bored with it. I still like simplicity though, so now I'm playing Jazz basses again, with rounds. Feels like a whole new world of tones reopened for me. So for me it's somewhat.

Neck dive... why is it a problem?

That might be fine with a little neck dive, but with a lot instead of "resting" it'll be more like "pushing" down with my forearm. It would also limit my right hand mobility. I like to have both arms free to adjust my technique as I go. I play with fingers, pick, thumb, and palm mute depending...

Sound guy played recordings from the night before at sound check

I love that feeling. When everything just sounds how you imagine or better. It's like finally! All this tone chasing pays off. And damn that bass is gorgeous too.

    How LOUD is a Rumble 500c + 2x10

I don't know where you're located but here I could get just about any rig I want for 1.5k used. I use a Rumble 500c in a moderately loud rock band and haven't needed to turn up the volume much past halfway. With an extension cab you should be fine. Try it out and keep your receipts, return it...
