    Changing tuning????

Acoustic duo starting season 8 here in OIB NC. Guitar/Bass tuning is half step down with no problems. Arrange tuning to best suit us and no one notices.

Are you a plug in and play bassist?

Plug and play and the only knob on the Rumble 500 I touch during a show is the volume. Got to keep up with the Lead player.

How to play bass in a condo? Please help!

I've not read all the posts so my apologies if this has already been posted. Me for last 7 years... ear buds that came with I-Phone from computer and my Fender Kingman Bass unplugged. All I need.

Double Bass Do you still get nervous, before a performance?

Being a 70year old Bassist, soundman, setup man, cash collection man et al. Yes I still get nervous and always suggest a very familiar song to start the night. That goes well... it's off to the races.

I’ve been playing bass for 52 years.

Started with saxaphone in 4th grade. Started bass in 9th and played in local bands thru 1972 when I decided it was time to grow up start a career and raise a family. Only bass I kept was the 68 Eb3 and it was living room art for 40 years. Retiring in 2011 I asked the new wife of 7 years what...

    (Only play the root note)

Hmmm... basically what i was going to suggest. Nicely let BL know you are not happy and that he should be looking for a new root bassist. You agree to stay until he finds someone then... play on. Do it in front of entire band and again... nicely.

    Set list blows

Interesting topic. As a 70year old low end half of an acoustic duo here on the NC/SC coast, we play 75% of the time to the restaurant crowd and 25% to the restaurant/bar crowd. Two in ten gigs may result in dancing during the last set. More than once we have been told to take a break as the...

What riff hooked you on bass?

Now that I think about it.

Singers changing key: how much is too much?

I've read the first and last pages of this so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned but, I play in an acoustic duo. Ninety nine percent of the over 200 covers we can do are played and sung half a step down from the recorded original. Guitars tuned down half a step also. Should regular...

What's the simplest bass song you especially enjoy playing?

At the end of most nights, our two best well received songs are Drive and Wicked Games.
