For me it was a Geddy riff during the solo in Digital Man on Signals. (yeah, maybe 40 years ago.) That line is somehow imprinted in my soul When I heard it, long before I came a bassists, I felt a calling I still feel today. It vibrates within me to this day.

The MIDI bass on Stevie Wonder's I Just Called to Say I Love You. I was five years old and wanted to play bass ever since.

A couple of years before I picked up a bass it was the opening riff to Dance, Dance, Dance by the Beach Boys. Not sure if it's even a bass. The bass solo in My Generation sealed the deal....
