Dazed and confused
I was already playing when that album came out but what great bass lines on that album, How Many More Times was my favorite, I even saw them in Boston in 1969 doing that album. JPJ is a great player.

Dazed and confused
First 4 albums I mastered were GFR 's red album, Paranoid, Closer to to Home, and Humble Pie Live at the Fillmore .Agree with much of the above.
Not riffs per se, but bass that’s loud and proud, mixed way in the front and arguably driving and dominating the songs.
Grand Funk, Mel Schacher on I’m Your Captain (Closer To Home). That there bass power and playing is something special.
Have always loved Randy Meisner’s playing on the first Eagles album.
That is an immensely catchy bass part!Kiss. Sure know something.
