    Trouble deciding on a bass

That’s a rough price spot. You could get something with good quality and playability but something wont be ideal. Theres going to sacrifices with the pickups, electronics, and/or hardware. Think about instruments at a lower price point and put money back into aftermarket pickups. Perhaps...

    Boss GX-10

Great review, especially to showcase the range of effect options and the use of the interface. Maybe I’m an outlier, but I’m more curious as to its use as a complete rig replacement. Hearing how it’s amp simulations and IR patches stack up against other competition would be very relevant. I...

    Ibanez BTB multiscales…sheesh

I had a string or two that were not seating properly on the zero fret which created a weird buzz/overtone and the string was kinda dead. The nut just needed to be filed a little bit. It doesn't sound like you had the same issue but it's easy to assume they are having some set up issues/growing...

The strings need to be different than normal sizes on a multiscale bass for tension reasons. You should not simply go with the super long scale NYXLs. Bottom line is D'Addario doesn't sell this set of strings to the public...yet So what to do...There is a lot of info about strings for...

    Compare Ibanez vs Spector

I think you would have to go with the Aguilars unless you routed it for EMG.

I would recommend this over the BTB premiums. I have owned the BTB 1406 Premium which was a amazing in terms of craftsmanship and overall tone. The biggest issue and the main reason I ended up selling it was that the low B string just didn't quite pop. I think most players with experience...

I bought the new Ibanez BTB805MS w/ Ibanez T1 PUPs

@RenderBroken Congratulations! These were the first sound samples I have heard that actually sound like the bass! All the other samples I have heard don't do justice in showing that clear, articulate, yet full sound you get. I have had the BTB605MS for a few months now.

    NBD - ESP LTD B-1005MS a NG2 alternative?

I will participate with this LTD/Ibanez hijacking of a Dingwall thread! Not much difference in weight between my BTB605ms and LTD B-1005 but the balance is very different. The LTD is a neck diver for sure whereas BTB is very well balanced. I just wear a strap when I play it and that helps...

    Ibanez BTB multiscales…sheesh

I played around with the pickup height too and it was indeed tight. I had to be very careful with the right screwdriver to not potentially strip, although the screws seem to be good quality. I'd rather have it tight than the opposite though. Did you notice much positive impact to the sound when...

    Ibanez BTB multiscales…sheesh

Very early impressions for the BTB605MS. In fact, the only reason why I'm not currently playing it is it's too dangerous to have it in my hands while watching a very rambunctious one year old (who woke up WAY too early this morning!). This finish is bananas. It's got a matte pearly sheen...

It's shipped! And Sweetwater was so kind to send a bunch of pictures of the actual bass to drool over while I wait. But it's coming...

    Ibanez BTB multiscales…sheesh

Another demo that leaves a bit to be desired...If you're showcasing a bass by playing harmonics, having them sound that dull is not the wisest choice. But again, hard to know whether that was an EQ choice or if the pickups really have that 'ol bartolini bh-2 blanket effect. Perhaps my...

Played some nice basses at GC today: LTD Multi-Scale and Roscoe SKB 3005.

I have the B-1005MS. It's a monster and an amazing value for the features and quality. I think it would be more popular if not for it's pointy stylings and overall ignorance to ergonomics.

The T1s don't seem to have a ton of inherent character. That's not necessarily a bad thing but as someone used to Nordstrands that already bring a lot to the party, it could be a bit dissatisfying. I still have the blue one on preorder. I think the overall package is still one of the coolest new...

    How sacrilege is it?

It’s a Squier. Using it for firewood would make it black and provide some warmth too…maybe even cook some carrots on the open flame. Don’t take too personally, just a little ribbing.
