Recently added a 4 string 3/4 DB to my stage gear, same time, added a 12" sub to the, wait for it... Peavey Vypyr 30 as the topy part of the stage rig. Play 4,5,6,7,8 string basses, fretted and fretless in the mix. Have fEarful 15/6/1 also, though not at the same time as the above. 12"sub...
So many of us want to extend our capabilities, at times these gains happen quickly, the better we become the longer it takes to achieve a leap in our abilities ( perceived and real ), vocalists are no different, help him or her get the best from the effects or attempts at improving...
Hee Hee, very poignant, like the op, gunna buy new strings and change my 32 year old bass strings when i earn enough cold hard cash from playing bass at gigs, unless i die of old age first... all about being a dreamer, being a musician, cheers.
FWIW, and that could be nothing. Startup problems on certain types of SMPSU are related to a "sustain" winding on the transformer, more directly the filter capies associated, on initial switch on, the kick in the winding elevates the feedback voltage rail to then sustain the controller ic or...
Aint it the truth, many think that back in the old days we had it good, compared to the difficult scene today. What is not known was how competitive it was, you had to be better than the other 100 bands to get a gig, sharpened us up no end. There is a reason why some muso's are better than...
No problem Zephoria, as mentioned what works for me may not be useful for another person. Sure you will find a working solution, as you go. Did not realise you had a wireless setup. Here, gave up on that quickly, as two of my basses have 13 pin cables conencted as well as the normal pickup...
Not sure what i do is of any assistance to you, have up to 4 basses ready to go, live stage. Choices were few, the simplest was a powered ( stereo ) mixer for my bass amplifier and separate speaker boxes. Have a stereo 4001 connected as required, in the mix, ie 3 of the mixer channels are...
There was a guy in the UK offereing SS replacement screws ( kit ) for the 4001 et al on ebay some time back. Bought a set from, him though have not installed them. Fairly easy to damage the stock screws on the saddle.
Hope you keep the Rick, you did well on the deal.
Your having a laugh, only buy basses, never sell any of them... 21 in total started in 1976 with a nice starting point, 75 4001 Rick and 75 Pbass..... the very idea, selling a bass.... grin.
Having bought a mint condition, all original used 74 or 75 4001 in 1976, the machine head tuners were hopless playing live, Schaller ( big ones ) installed, made the neck dive worse, the rick-o-sound plate and 1/4" jacks ditched for an XLR, 1Kw crackling from the originals was not happening...
One size does not fit all, one persons weird dancing is anothers classic move, mean what is the worst that happens, someone has a laugh at the band...like that has never happened before. The op is possibly thinking like a muso and not a punter... commom problem in a band, not lost on me...
This is your clue, beans has the right beans...apology for the poor joke.
Here, run 700V HT on a quad of EL34's ( 6CA7 ), your amp has been working since the 60's i take it? Aspects like back emf suppression on the OT ( prevents socket flash over ) will be of most concern for elevated...
FWIW, 59 vintage years. While looking around for a trailer to cart the sound equipment around, i could not find a tow bar/hitch to fit the old large salon 4 door. Ended up buying a tow bar with van attached, cheaper as well. Not exactly quick in the mind department these days, as i loaded...
So glad i started collecting discarded valve radios on the street, in 1966. As the new 6 transistor radios were all the rage. Inside these older radios were all manner of components, body end dot resistors, paper tube capacitors, silver mica capies etc etc. In the fulness of time entering...
Often the case, out of the bad comes the good, hard concept to grasp when young or in the middle of hell on earth. Then you met people whom know what you have been through, and actually have concise life experiences, to help in a perspective, upon what a life imagined, should be and what...
