I recently fell into a good deal and got a Gibson EB-3 Slot Head, short scale. I measure the gauge on the strings that are on it and they appear to be .50-.100, roundwound. No Silks on them. I like the feel of them, but it needs new ones...any suggestions for similar strings for this bass...

Does anyone have any experience with Aguilar Amps and Cabinets? I'm wondering about getting a 4x10 and a 1x15 cabinet to play my Ampeg B2R Head through.

A variety of kinds of Rock, all very loud. I'm competing for stage volume with an extremely loud drummer.

I'm finding the Traynor listed at around $600.00 at various places. As far as price range, I'm not super concerned. I'm willing to hold out and save the money to get what I need, I just don't want to spend alot and find out I could've spent alot less for the same quality.

I love my ES9. But you'll have to have it setup by somebody that knows what they're doing.

If you like both enough to consider buying them and one sounds better to you, then get it. It's all about what works best for you.
