Gibson, at least they're trying…Les Paul Junior Tribute Bass

I tried the Abel and it is going back. The base has a slight rounded edge so the clamp doesn't have enough contact to establish a firm grip. When it stays it is great, but it comes off too easily. Oh well, it was worth a try. Time to put my thinking cap while I'm looking at the 3d printer....

Gibson, at least they're trying…Les Paul Junior Tribute Bass

These are very popular among acoustic guitar players, its actually the best in class. Acoustic guitars have a sharp edge that diggs into the arm and some, especially folks who have being playing for decades, complain about tingling and other nerve related issues. I picked up classical guitar 2...

Gibson, at least they're trying…Les Paul Junior Tribute Bass

I'd give this a try before irreveesible modding Invalid Link Removed I use the it (different size) on classical guitar and it's awesome. The Gibson is 45mm, i pulled the trigger on it. I'll update this thread when it arrives with my pictures etc

No longer available Fender MIM Standard Precision 2001-02 (Putnam Mod)

Not bad at all! I just saw that too. I tried a used C9 at gc the other day, it was beautiful. I loved the neck profile and the sound was huge but not boomy. Good finish too. There are 3 sub-models of the c9, i am not sure what it was.

    Luthier in Southern Maine?

Hi. I have an old fretless Fernandes that I picked up here on tb classifieds last year. I had to considerably I raise the action otherwise it buzzed a lot, almost like a double bass height. It has a wonderful sound and it is same vintage year as I so I am holding on to it. But the double bass...

Jackson Minion - weird neck grain - glued?

Thank you for the replies folks! I feel better now :) It was indeed for my son, he is 9 and started on a Squier Jaguar Affinity H, but 32" is too much for his hand size. I didn't want to start a return after its here already, especially if there is no reason. I didn't know about scarf joints...

Jackson Minion - weird neck grain - glued?

Hi, I just had a Jackson Minion delivered. The low E open is blurry and very little fret buzz out of the box, mostly gone with a little bit of tuning the saddles height. What bugs me is I see 2 grain patterns on the neck, which look odd - like it was not from one block of wood rather 2 blocks...

    more sympathetic the others

Hi, With most basses I have tried/owned, sympathetic vibration was not a big issue. The exception was a 5 string G&L L 2500 (which I no longer have). At the time I thought it was a tight-spaced-5-thing. I have a Squier Affinity Jazz, and there it is rather pronounced, that I have to use muting...

    Strings for 28" scale

What exactly is the issue with the main body of the string wrapping around the post? Is it a flatwound issue?

    Strings for 28" scale

Hi, I am thinking of picking up either Squier Mini or Jackson Minion for my kid. He is 9, and the 32" Squier Affinity Jazz, while a pretty good on its own, is a bit hard for the stretch of his hand. I had put Ernie Ball Flats on it and it made a big improvement. Those were 34" scale and they git...

2019 Les Paul Junior Tribute DC Bass Review

So I was trying it today with that little gadget, fender mustang micro. When plugged directly to the bass and feeding into the mac a usb input it was pretty bad. I then switched to using an instrument cable (Male-female) and things improved. But without the pc and fender micro, rather plugged...

2019 Les Paul Junior Tribute DC Bass Review

Question to fellow Les Paul Jr DC owners: I am picking up a fair amount of static that goes away when I touch the strings, as my practice area is very noisy (2 laptops, screens etc). It looks like I would need to shield the pickup cavity etc - did you do that project as well?
