Struth my friend. I trust the gear that pros that make more money playing music than anyone on this forum use. By all accounts Peavey is great, and Joyo makes fine stuff too. Perhaps only one of one boutique gear is pro enough for a forum surfer ;) Sorry for the quick thread derailment OP :)

Some of the biggest bands in the world have used Peavey 5150s/6505s, I'd say they're just as professional as any other amp.

Certainly seems to be a mistake, as this book is one of the most peculiar reads I've ever had. About half of the songs are written 1/2 step below how they're actually played and recorded, as well as every version I've found. Some of them even do this halfway through the song, why is beyond me...

I'll definitely check this technique out! The sound is about as close as anyone's going to get without an actual upright, as the piezo and extended fretboard on the SRF are about as close of an approximation as one can get without an actual upright. I'll be running a comp, volume pedal anyways...
