I believe tone suck is real... But I also welcome it to some degree. I found the tone coming from my bass straight to the amp was harsh and muddy even after adjusting the eq on the head and the tone knobs. Once I added my Bass Driver the sound mellowed out and allowed for slightly better...

I'll stick with my nano Small Stone. The only phaser I need because I wasn't really looking for one to begin with.

I have an GCB-100, which I had to replace the felt switch thing with a furniture caster. I also have an MXR M-109 from when I used to play guitar. I don't really remember where I put it because I don't use it, though. I also plan on eventually getting a carbon copy.

I have the Bass Driver. I tried a Big Muff, but its just too over the top. I use the bass driver with level at half way, tone and morph at 3, and blend at about 5. It adds just a bit of color and punch to help my audibility without being like a bassy buzz saw.

I have the CEB-3 Bass chorus. Its all baby blue and the one of the pedal cables I connect to it has baby blue rubber on it. ;) It has a nice subtle chorus. You can get a weird warble out of it by cranking the depth, which, combined with phase, is like Tom Morello on bass. :D I also like...

Does it have a high enough output to cut through in hard rock and metal a la Steve Harris? Its a choice between Dimarzio Split P, SD Basslines Quarter Pound and this. I know the QP has cutting power.

Can P-46 be used for rock/ metal and still be heard? Can they cut through? They seem to sound great for clean jazz, but up against heavily distorted guitars and heavily beaten drums... I'm very fond of Steve Harris's tone and how it cuts through the mix. Can these pickups cut through that...

So, hows the P-46 sound? Is is vintage or modern. High output or normal output? I'm looking for a pickup to cut through but be clear.
