I've had the same set of DDTs on a parts bass for 2 years. Hipshot light weight tuners in C standard tuning. Hipshot "A" bridge. Hasn't broken yet. Didn't like the sound at first but really nice once they mellow.

Received my $99 BAM today. So far it's a neat little amp. I think this can be my small living room setup. At 8 ohms it gets almost as loud as the Shuttle 6.2 it's sitting on in the picture but gets warmer faster. @wintremute , mine does seem to have a tiny fan on the top left side. It's quiet...

@BentonvilleBass I have an SMD version of the Wattson and Slampegg. I can get the Slampegg dialed close the the Watt, but the Watt has it's own unique awesome beefy sound. I think the Slampegg is more versatile. You can have big lows, scoop, or great mids. I'm keeping both!

I've had 3 days with my new Slampegg and it's a winner for me. I definitely prefer it over my Tech 21 or Zoom sims. With a bit of optical compression in front of the Slampegg, I can get touch sensitivity and heft that is closer to my full tube amps. I haven't settled on any settings yet because...

Tube amp watt ratings are usually listed as cleanish watts. Many tube amps can produce short bursts at double the clean rate. I personally use extra cab.

Usually those amps are only 50 watts. I'd be tempted at that price if it was near by.
