    "swirling" advice needed.

I tryed a splatter effect on an SG kit recently, just white base coat, and then I accidentally exploded a can of black paint over it. I liked it so Decided to go with that, and it looks awesome. Unfortunatly I've run out of paint, so I have to get some more becore I do the neck and front of the...

Tele body bass - My first build

:O I love it! I tinkered with the though of making one, and I'm seriously tempted now! BTW, will you actually be able to use the neck pickup if its for guitar?

    MTD Kingston

Sounds nice. It might have a blend control if the Musicman style pickup is split (to vary the blend between the two halves of the pickup), and this makes it possible to turn it into a single coil sound... Maybe?

    making my new bass

Remember, its just as easy (if not easier) to build your own design, as it is to copy someone elses. I wouldn't suggest maple for the main part of the body, and ash is quite a good wood to choose for a jazzier sound.

    making my new bass

Bear in mind that you won't get many (if any) useful replies unless you are moderatly specific. Seeing as you want to build YOUR bass, you want to make it how you like it. Also my most recent bass project was for a GCSE course, and on a tight budget I got the main parts for £100 (neck...

    Killswitches

I belive you need to cross the output with the ground in order to short the circuit. If you break the circuit then you get that nasty feedback sound you get from an unconnected input jack.

    Pickup cavity too big??

I've done this on my bass that I'm currently building, and I decided to make a small scratchplate for it (so the controls can be mounted on it).

HELP! Can't decide on body wood (pick the one you like!)

Unlucky, although i heard of a cheap method using a regular drill to rout... All you need is a blank drill bit or one you dont use, find the blank side and basically angle grind it till it is sharp enough, and that way it only cuts the angled part. Thanks, although I'm going to need it! I've...

HELP! Can't decide on body wood (pick the one you like!)

In theory, you could try to drill the 'ears', but do it before the main routing.

HELP! Can't decide on body wood (pick the one you like!)

The problem I had will 9mm is that is was too thick, and the router bit wouldn't reach into the wood enough (stupid school equipment!) They have one router between 60-70 students! (at a time!)

HELP! Can't decide on body wood (pick the one you like!)

Musicman (copy, im on a tight budget!) which is annoying because i was thinking of splitting it. And maybe later a p-bass pickup? Yeah i live in england, but i just made my own template out of 3mm mdf (ply works better) and just drill a hole, and put the scroll saw blade through it. I...

HELP! Can't decide on body wood (pick the one you like!)

HELP! Can't decide on body wood (pick the one you like!)

I'm only on my first one (and it's a school project) which is rubbish because I would really like more time on it, to get it perfect.

Ah cool, I've never done hollow so I havn't got a clue and I figured there might be some neat trick... a router!
