ok so im gonna start writing alternative stuff along with my metal. i have a bass thats great for metal but im just wonder what a good altern bass would be.

ok what you do is you put your hand the way you would if you were playing on a bass. then what you do is you hit your thumb with your picking fingers in the pattern that you pick wether its 2, 3 or 4 fingers start slow then increase speed. youll see very good results :spit::bassist:

No, long does not equal skillfull. Look up the song Only Ashes Remain. That is skill and it isnt long. As for long and bad look up Free Bird. Not a bad band but i cant stand the song. Length has nothing to do with skill.

yeah take my advice. dont get it. i have the same bass and trust me its great at first just due to the feeling of a new bass but after that youll realize that it is really much harder to play than most basses youll get. unless you use a pick

i like ibanez GSR 205 is got a low cost. it has awesome low end feq. with no rattle, which happen to me a lot with other basses. down tune isnt really a problem either. i do have to agree with Rene Julien not all metal has to be down tuned.
