    just think about it, the string is thicker, so of course the tension would have to be higher to produce the same note

    I would bet it is homemade the woods are too expensive to make it marketable, and the body and headstock designs are to wierd to be done by a professional luthier this doesn't mean its a bad bass though, just that its probably not worth much
