No the lamp survived. If my neighbors do complain about 400 watts they might soon find 1200 watts lightning the sky since I have two more that I am not using...yet.

While I was cutting the template the sawdust inspector showed up.

Template time. Rough cut some MDF. I'll fine tune it on the orbital sander over the weekend. Since I have one I figured I might as well trace the outline from the genuine article.

Finally time and the weather cooperated and I could get back to work. Not much time since I had to clean up after three days of heavy winds but I did rough cut an MDF template.

Perfection! But the green finger board is a bit much.

The sandbag experiment was a success. Cut and flush sanded the edged. Good tight joint. Cut out and blocked control panel while it was on the bench. Still not 100% but this one might get a lighted cracked mirror face like this. But for now it goes back on the shelf until the builds are finished.
