    Opinion on Markbass

As a Markbass gear user for some 7 or so years my dear original CMD102P with the 102HF cab is still going strong. The original class AB amp has been great and seen a ton of action, remarkable. Also recently had the CMD112H which was good but didn't quite float my boat, this has moved on. I'm...

Just an after thought.. Can someone have a word with Fender and tell them to stop fitting the power IEC socket upside down.. :) No good if you use right-angle connectors :) ..

Well yeah! You likely remember my measuring of all kinds of stuff with my Rumble 500. There was all manner of input after, disbelief, interest, hostility, agreement. I was accused as a troll even. It was a lot of fun for me and I had great belief in it as a product. Those in love with their...

Had same darn problem, twice @jastacey ! Admit the ambient temperature was pretty hot. Did it give off any 'crackle' before finally giving up? There was some warning here but then dead. Playing pretty hard for a few hours. Trying next day OK again. Second unit I've had but I expect I'll be...

Interesting. Looking at the schematic the gain reduction (compression) appears to be applied in the 'Vintage' mode which may, or may not suit your requirements. Also note the XLR output is not flat (has extra scoop added) and is rolled off at the low end. The general EQ is not flat in any case...

Cut out single pieces nearly size of side walls, there's a step where the amp sits, just went for plain rectangular shapes. It was quite difficult to get in the there and line up, it not a perfect work of art in there but does the job. If I did it again would use smaller pieces for ease. Was...

Steve ( @steve_rolfeca ) we discussed a while back this subject and I commented on the 'knuckle test' and the obvious resonances of the Rumble 500C and its cabinet I own. Since then have applied several layers of Dynamat to the side panels only, about 1/4" thick, the 'knuckle test' now reveals a...

Excellent, thanks for that @tombowlus - This is obviously something I have missed out on! We need to see more of this kinda stuff :)

What's really needed is: "Guitar & Bass Amp Test Magazine" Or testing included in articles in general magazines. Testing is popular in the Hi-Fi world and also Ham Radio but I suspect could be perfectly hated by instrument amplification manufacturers. I can't imagine why? ;)

I have no idea. Perhaps it's switching two 8 ohm speakers in series or parallel? 4 & 16 ohms? I can't imagine what's going on there. Or switching a BIG resistor in and out?

What R.M.S. actually is the A.C. equivalent (for a sine wave) of D.C. power dissipated into a load, like a speaker or resistor. We say the electricity supply is 110V, this is an R.M.S. value. The actual Pk-Pk voltage is 311V! So if you put an 8 ohm resistor (or speaker) across a DC voltage of...

Hey Linnin. Please explain this Clean Continuous Watts 'CCW' compared to RMS so we can understand.

Could be done but by design it's not completely possible. I posted this a while back showing approx positions for flat(ish) via the FX send. The line and headphone output are too extreme to flatten in any useful way and likely does not matter.

Yes, the line out and headphone would still be scooped in comparison though.

Hi @JKos .. As you asked if I could measure the 'Line Out' and 'Headphone' output compared to the 'Effects Send' and as you can see the line out and headphone offers near identical result apart from the line out (XLR) being rolled off at the low end. Blue via effects send, Red via XLR (line...
