Fender Rumble Club

Hey Linnin. Please explain this Clean Continuous Watts 'CCW' compared to RMS so we can understand.

Perhaps he or someone else actually knows the answer for a fact. I am a bit uncertain so I googled this: Audio power - Wikipedia"RMS_power" <- link is broken due to the quotation marks, look for section 3.1Continuous power and "RMS power"

Still having my morning coffee and trying to wake up my brain but to me it looks like Clean Continuous Power and RMS power of two audio companies might be about the same thing in practice. Supposing both define clean as <1% THD.

If you Youtube Fender Rumble Studio 40, you should be able to find a few videos.
 
2x10 combo.

The new Stage 800 is a 2x10 combo which surprised the heck out of me as I thought it would be head only. I still expect a head in the near future.
Son of a B! I just bought the 500 and 112 last year. I wonder if the 800's dimensions will match any extension cabinets other than the 112. The 800 will kill that cab.

Width & Depth are identical to the Rumble 500 & 200 combos at: 19" x 14". It is 0.7" taller at 23.7" vs 23". That's a whole heck of a lot of digital processing and wattage power packed into a super compact and lightweight package! And remember folks this is rated in real clean continuous watts, and not the bogus 1600 VooDoo watts it would be rated by various spurious bass amp companies.

For the Rumble Stage 800, any confirmation yet on how the external speakon-out ohm works? I'm still a bit confused by the 4/8ohm switch...

No, @jwindham, I'm also interested in that and am often searching for it, or someone to comment on my posted assumptions at how it works. What do you think?

Anyone ever seen such an Extension Speaker connection as this that can explain it, please? I initially assumed it was 500 watts with just the internal speakers and 800 watts with an external 8 ohm cabinet (split evenly with 400 watts to internal and 400 watts to external). But this obviously adds another option into the mix.

It looks switchable to use either an 8 ohm or 4 ohm cabinet? So I'd expect that the 8 ohm external cabinet at 400 watts gets half the total 800 watts total and the internal speakers get the other 400 watts (implying an 8 ohm internal speaker load)?

But how would the 4 ohm switch enable a 4 ohm external cabinet to take 500 watts and leave just 300 watts to the (assumed) 8 ohm internal speaker load? That's a new one on me, if that's what it does.

What R.M.S. actually is the A.C. equivalent (for a sine wave) of D.C. power dissipated into a load, like a speaker or resistor. We say the electricity supply is 110V, this is an R.M.S. value. The actual Pk-Pk voltage is 311V!

So if you put an 8 ohm resistor (or speaker) across a DC voltage of 110V (like a battery) you would need 311V Pk-Pk AC signal (sine wave) for the same amount of power into the load.

It gets a bit complicated because a speakers resistance varies with frequency (the note or notes you play) but you get the general idea.
