Although I agree with chadhargis and own 2 GL's which I truly love, it has to be said the GL's have poor resale value. The math doesn't work, don't trade 2 for 1.

I also tried going to local stores to see if I could just try one of there replacement pickgurads, no luck though. Again I run into the issue that music stores in this area carry next to no bass inventory.

Thanks for the link but I looked there already. Chandler Guitars sells them but the ones I want to purchase have much more intricate designs. Like I said in the OP, I just want to know if a pickguard that will fit a Geddy Lee or American Deluxe Fender will also fit on a GL JB.

I found a custom pickguard online that I would really like to purchase however the seller says he can only offer pickguards compatible with either a Fender American Deluxe model or Geddy Lee Signature model. Has any one replaced a pickguard for a GL JB, if so, do you know if the models I have...

No one sells higher gauges in Ottawa, I had to order the DDT's online. So far they sound much better than the EB's did on this bass so I'm glad I made the switch.

SUCCESS!!! DR DDT's .125 guage arrived in the mail yesterday. Put them on and fiddled with the EQ a bit and was able to get great sound from the Schecter. What a relief. Thanks for all the help guys.

They do not sell individual bass strings, again....only guitar. I think I live in the wrong city, really not bass player friendly.

Thanks for the tip Megadan, I may need to resort to ordering a few different types to see what works. I called every shop in the Ottawa area yesterday and finally realized why I settled on EB Power Slinkys all those years ago.....it's all anyone carries around here!

I should add, there a few other stores I'll be visiting on the weekend and hopefully the selection will be better!
