I HATE HATE playing RATM covers, seems like every band these day seems to think that playing a repetetive 4-5 note riff is a challenge for a bass player. but admittedly i do love RATM's music...just hate playing it :D.

you cant possibly limit the bass to one area. Its such a versatile instrument, it can play beautiful melodoic solos (which i personally love) the stuff of wooten and the like. But then it can hold a whole band together by laying down the fundamental areas of the music. I do prefer bass solos...

Hey, I've always been interested in getting a fretless bass, i wanted to know some of your opinions on which you prefer playing and why?

I'm thinking about getting a new cab and head, i want something that matches my playing like puts me a bit more forward with a nice bright sound :hmm:. Have any of you guys Got any suggestions? Thanks

i reckon they're serious but they want a bassist who'll lie down for them and do anything they tell them to do they probably just want someone who'll lay down one note for a whole song.
