    Church Amp Suggestions

I am going to go look for a new amp to replace a Fender 250/210 Bassman combo that just isn't cutting it in our church anymore (clipping really bad now, perhaps damaged IDK). We seat about 200-250 people, and have no PA support for any of the instruments. Instruments include 2 electric...

After reading the Amp Faq I realized how stupid I was talking about a 4 or 8 ohm cab. Thanks for the suggestions, and not laughing at me. :D

    Carvin B1500 club

I've read a lot about the LDS stuff, and it is ALL really good. I've lurked around their website, but I do not really understand what it is all about. It looks like like they are a custom cab maker. I have no clue as to what specs I would want, nor do I know if I could afford something like...

What stand alone cabs match up well (do you recommend) with the B1500? Particularly 1x15's. I have been kicking around the idea of matched cab and head and using a B1500 with an 8 ohm BR115N. I thinking the 8 ohm only because I think at 4 ohms the head would be way to much for that cab. Am I...

thinking of getting a micro amp

From what I understand the BX500 will not fit in a gig bag pocket like the Genz, Markbass, and other micro amps. It is a little larger than most of the micros, someone correct me if I am wrong. Perhaps post a picture of it in a gig bag as well. The BX500 does seem to be the most feature rich of...

The "Official" MTD (non-US made) Club thread - Show them off !

I'm definitely putting an OBP3 in my KZ5, and going to use it with stock pups for a while. I was thinking about flipping the stock pups while I was at it since I have heard a few people who have done it, and liked their tone.

The "Official" MTD (non-US made) Club thread - Show them off !

I was looking through some Kingston vids on you tube and found this: He really does have an amazing sound, and the only changes he said he made was adjusting the height of the pups as well as swapping the neck pup to the bridge and bridge to the neck. Just some food for thought.

    MTD Kingston Z5 Pickup Upgrade

I've been looking at and reading up on the Aggies all day, and have decided to go with the OBP3 and try it the stock pickups. If they don't do it for me then I'll swap to some Bart XXPC25's. While I'm installing the Aggie I'll to do the copper shielding too. I am going to see if I can run the...

    MTD Kingston Z5 Pickup Upgrade

Why did you go with Nords, and the Aguilar vs. other pups, and pres? Is this the correct way to wire a pre for 18v? Invalid Link Removed

    MTD Kingston Z5 Pickup Upgrade

A.J. I am not really having any clipping issues with the stock pre, just a lack of overall frequency. The notion of headroom is still a little confusing to me. Am I right to assume that 18v systems are just a fix for people experiencing distortion/clipping in their signal? As mentioned before...

    MTD Kingston Z5 Pickup Upgrade

When I got my Z5 I was looking for a good fit for an Urban Gospel setting (IBC, Pentecostals of Alexandria, Tye Tribbit etc). Your standard Smith/MTD environments. The electronics do that pretty darn well as long as the bass is boosted. I was very happy with how I sat in the mix. Well...

    MTD Kingston Z5 Pickup Upgrade

At the time....I mostly like the look of it. In addition the density of ebony gives you highs that are very defined and a tight and compressed overall tone. However.... I am so happy with the Rosewood neck that my Z has I would not change even it it was free. I cannot tell you all how...

    Amp buying advice

The 10's are smaller making them better suited for faster playing such as funk, while the 15' is larger providing a deeper and fuller bass note.
