I think if they can keep it to halfway between there & black it could look pretty menacing but you'll inherently be losing a lot of the details in the figure. Maybe a quarter of the way towards black??

Haha, that's wacky. Sorry to change the subject - I have to say I'm absolutely in heaven here. I've had an afterburner II since their first run in 2004(?), the solid mahogany body & bubinga neck ones - and I'm renting a Traynor YBA100 for a week, driving a Fitzmaurice Jack 12. Just a bonkers...

I wonder if all four being ELs might bring the level back up to normal. Anyway, I had a big problem haha. Hearing the gain and master cranked independently made me love both sounds & naturally I'll go ahead & assume that the ultimate setup would be to have TWO of em, one with the gain dimed...

Trevor, if you happen to see this - are you able to say anything about having the gain down low & the master up with EL34s? Did it still have its own aggressive thing going on? Cheers!

And it'll do a good Paul Denman or Jamerson all day long. It's really warm when you want it to be. Pretty happy so far...
