My understanding is that as long as you change them out in pairs and adjust the bias for each pair the amp is happy.

Oddly enough, the EL34s also brought down the overall level, so for the 1 gig I did, I had to have the master dimed and the gain at Noon.Trevor, if you happen to see this - are you able to say anything about having the gain down low & the master up with EL34s? Did it still have its own aggressive thing going on? Cheers!
Honestly, this is my first all tube head.I’ve had a LOT of tube amps over the years and I have never heard that you can mix different tube types in the same output circuit. Is this something Traynor approves of? Not trying to call you out or anything, just curious. Thanks
Very nice...what is this strange looking place you are playing in?Finally - 1st Public appearance of my YBA100 Sunday.
Made in Canada; the amp, the acoustic guitars, and the artist!
(scattered showers moved us inside. Nice and cool, so I brought the Traynor and the '64 P)
Everybody was please with the tone!

I had a YBA-200 and the Resonance added CLANK.What exactly does the Resonance switch do ?
Question closed anyway… as I’ve already bought another YGL3A MKIII today to replace the YBA100.As I've implied before - don't judge these until you get good tested tubes into them. Both of mine had one or more bad 12AX7 tubes. OTOH I find it "interesting" that Traynor hasn't reached out to me - especially as they know that they are shipping untested tubes ...
Tubes too hot? I would return them and get another quad. If I remember correctly, blue is when they are biased cold. In your case, you cannot bias them colder with the actual system in the event one of them goes to red in full CCW.Hi all. So I recently acquired a yba 100. I installed some new TAD 6L6 red base tubes. Went to bias them and was able to turn the pot up CW so the amber LED just turns off, but I am unable to get the blue LED to light, run out of CCW adjustment. I assume it’s fine because the amp does not go into protection mode and it sounds great. Just wondering because I still have time to return the tubes under warranty. Any one else run into this? Thanks

On mine I've measured the bias currents and even with the amber just on the bias currents are low for 6L6GC tubes so no prob.
Just curious why you replaced the 6L6's? Mine have nice ones that should last years. It was the crappy 12AX7's that needed replacement.

Are those flip top cabinets? If they are does/would the YBA fit inside (I have been thinking of getting a PF-210 cab for mine)?
