Sorry to change the subject - I have to say I'm absolutely in heaven here. I've had an afterburner II since their first run in 2004(?), the solid mahogany body & bubinga neck ones - and I'm renting a Traynor YBA100 for a week, driving a Fitzmaurice Jack 12. Just a bonkers combination together. The sounds of the preamp dimed & the power section dimed are each fun, but both up would naturally be fn deafening, so I'm using a Symetrix 501 in the effects loop & you can drive both sections way up while controlling overall volume from the compressor. These strings are easily a couple years old & it's still the rawest sounding thing I've ever heard. I am getting NOTHING done this weekend...

Even still I can't fathom that. The F# string doesn't even weigh 9 oz on its own, let alone 9 + whatever a G weighs.
I've had this thing for 17 years & I'm still honestly a little bit blown away every time I plug in.

Could be the difference between the entire sets. Looks like Kalium on it now, a standard Dingwall set might weigh that much less perhaps?
Picked this up today. First Dingwall. My hands are hurting from playing 3 hours lol. Really love the feel and sound, and the color is crazy. Tried to show a few photos that highlight the differences. But it’s really impossible to show how the paint flip flops.
The D-Roc is exceptional. If I’m being honest, I like mine better than both my Canadian Dingwalls. My D-Roc is in my top three.

@wvbass the matte black is super slick too, but I love purple and fell in love with this thing. The feel of the neck is fantastic. Balance is really great too, for such a weird shape.
Agree. When I met Sheldon Dingwall, he said it hung on a strap like a Jazz Bass, and I have to agree. It is very comfortable to play. Also, mine is very light - pretty sure it is under 8 lbs, and it is the "coolest" bass I have. My Sadowsky current has the #1 position, but my D-Roc will be with me on the next several shows.
