Maybe they'd be willing to do trans black burst edges?

@tombowlus has one of the nicest walnut topped basses I’ve seen.
And then there’s this one. Not walnut but a subtle finish on this buckeye

Just spotted this one on Reverb; the “default.shop.name” part seems kinda sketchy, but maybe someone in the Minneapolis area has laid eyes on it & can verify whether or not it’s legit:

100% 5 star ratings, one of them is John Fox Bass. The name is probably just a joke of sorts because Reverb forces a lame "default shop name" on users.
Actually, on second thought, it's definitely a scam. Yup, do not continue to look at this bass. Definitely because it is clearly a fake listing and not at all because I'm sweating bullets trying to determine if I can afford it right now...
It's not far off from mine. The main difference being a walnut body whereas mine is mahogany. It's a great bass and that's a really good price.
That's entirely possible; it took me a while to settle on "Groovaholic's Gig-Worthy Gear"...which is still pretty darn cheezy.
Anyhow, I'm not in the market for another bass.
And even if I was, I'd be hunting 4-strings (probably a D-Roc)
But I'm on Reverb enough and look at Dingwalls often enough that it showed up in my "suggested results" when I looked earlier today.
Just messaged the owner. Bass weighs 9lb
I messaged the seller for more info, and he said the bass weighs 9lbs 6oz. Too heavy for me, but I'm sure it would work well for others. Looks like he updated the ad to include info about the electronics, too. Hope someone here buys it up and tells us about how sweet it is so I can cry about being a Weight Weenie that won't take home any bass/guitar over 8lb 15oz.
I follow "Dingwall" as a search term, so I get them all in my Feed as well.

But it's an AB1, not an Afterburner II.

I post the following as a means of highlighting my appreciation for Sheldon's keen eye for aesthetically pleasing designs.
Take the Super J in 3 iterations:
1. The original:
2. Now with their standard size pickups and no control plate:
3. A Very Fancy Bass:
In all 3 versions, the attention to aesthetic detail is exceptional. Beautiful curves, no hard edges or lines. It just looks thoughtful.
Meanwhile, let's compare to a respected European custom shop take
This Maruszcyj 34.5-32.5" fanned fret Jazz:

Blech. Angular, hard edged pickups. Fretboard cut off parallel to the last fret. Angular, hard corners on the bridge pieces. None of these elements jive well with the curvature of a Jazz bass to my eyes, especially when stuff is set at angles to achieve fanned fret design. This thing looks slapdash, whereas the Dingwall looks intentional.

The earlier Afterburner II's did not have F-holes. The woods were different and they had tung-oil (I think) finishes.

I agree with almost all of this but the current standard Super J look here just doesn’t work for me. The three knobs looking like they’re just floating away on that lovely blue sea as the control plate has been removed.
I get why the design changed, that x top shows us pretty clearly. The massive space between the controls irks me for some reason, just having those three knobs closer together would be a better look
