You don't need a 34"+ scale for a good low B. The B on my 33" ACG sounds and feels great.

I agree with you about the Vader, but I think the opposite is true with the Zeus. The Zeus' proportions look a bit wonky on the guitar version, but I think they really work as a bass. The larger neck helps to bring it all together. If this had a 30" option, it'd likely be my next bass...

The Fractal Axe-Fx units do poly-octave effects, and the FX8 is an effects-only floor unit version of those. If it can do all the same effects stuff the rackmount modelling versions can do, then it'll do poly-octaves, too. It isn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but it's out there.
