For 15 years of my bass playing life NOFX, flat EQ, Bridge J pickup my tutor at conservatorium mentioned to me nicely my tone was great when i was playing Bright Size Life not so when playing rhythm changes or a blues think "warm" and "round" changed my thought process somewhat, to really...

    Rock and roll is dead?

There are certainly are issues with the music industry, i read an article that suggested we (musicians) are essentially consumers spending globally a whopping $35 billion dollars in order to get our hands on a chunk of a shrinking 10 billon in earnings! not to say you cant make a living out of...

I have played a fair few rigs in my time Warwick tube stack, Mesa 400, Ampeg SVT, Ashdown, Marshall even! and was never really satisfied them all have great meat and potatoes tones but i like aggressive modern tones and active pickups etc. i was at a work function and the band was playing top 40...

Drummer won't play the same fill twice

I guess there are a couple of issues you are experiencing? if there is a signature fill or you have arranged to sync up an accent / fill and the drummer doesn't do it, then he stuffed up and words may need to be exchanged in order to make sure you are all on the same page, kinda pointless...

    Who here plays low F#?

Cheers Fuzzbass i have often puzzled over the issues around extended range basses, but that would make alot of sense the 2 harmonic being the octave you are still getting the "root note" so to speak, it certainly changes my perspective somewhat, hmmm i might just go and mess with EQ settings for...

I have suffered similarly with my VT Deluxe, day time outdoor gig couldn't see s**t!! made for nervous moments when switching from boost patch to effects loop etc. I am fairly confident with my electronics skills i might just swap out my LEDs and let you know how i get on, i think i might just...

    Who here plays low F#?

Low F# from what i understand is around 23 Hertz (which is still audible) however most amps, preamps and even the electronics in your bass have started to attenuate the signal at that point, i have been to a few shows with bands that play that low and to be honest the bass player is a bit of an...
