Who plays bass on Cee-Lo Green's song "F*** You"?

I've also heard it was Pino but I can't seem to find a reliable source on that. Until I hear otherwise, I'll assume it's Pino.

    I just quit my band

That's what I did. But the guitarist already had it out with him once and doesn't want to rock the boat. When I told him how I felt he told me to 'let it go'. My opinion never counted for much anyway. I'll probably be better off; it has really killed my desire to play music. I think I'm...

    I just quit my band

LOL. I know it sounds petty, but he does it all the time and doesn't care. I've asked him, told him, warned him repeatedly and he doesn't care. I was tempted to start bumping into his mic stand and kicking his acoustic around, but I have too much respect for people's gear. He apparently...

    I just quit my band

I normally would, but I've been helping with the PA gear as well. I already have my 97 pound bass amp and two 60 pound mains to fit into my little sedan along with my basses and the mic stands and speaker stands. Of course, the singer takes none of that, nor lifts a finger during set up or...

    I just quit my band

Thanks. Good advice. I'm starting to come to terms with the good and the bad. I saw their ad on Craigslist to replace me; it was kind of cathargic. At least they didn't talk bad about me in the ad. LOL. I felt I had to leave or my friendships would eventually corrode. I'd rather be their...

    I just quit my band

Thanks, that makes me feel better considering I was on anti depressants and am seeing a psychologist. Did I overreact? Probably. Is what they are doing right? No. A band is a bunch of relationships and there are bound to be fights, but everybody else in the band has had their screw-ups...

    I just quit my band

I just quit the band I helped co-found. We were only together about 6 or 7 months but played over 16 paying gigs locally and have had great responses. I would really like some opinions on if you think I over-reacted or if I made the right choice; I play bass and my good friend from...

    The Next Step

Thanks. I have been working on my music theory and have a very good friend and bandmate (guitarist) that is becoming very fluent in music theory. He's taking jazz classes and plays at least 6 nights a week (often 7). I have decent resources around me for music and believe you are right when...

    The Next Step

Thanks for the link. I will take a look at that. I was flipping through Bass for Dummies (aptly named in my case) and it has a lot of similar points. Between the book and your link I should be able to figure it out. Thanks again.

    The Next Step

Thanks for the ideas. I definitely need to expand my musical vocabulary and theory knowledge. I was actually working on that last night. I know there are things I am not great at like slap-and-pop, which sounds great at Guitar Center and might impress a few people, but in the music that I...

    Singing & Playing Bass

I learned the bass part first; then became really familiar with song (phrasing, lyrics, etc.) until I could do either one, but not both, by muscle memory. Then I started playing along with a recording of the song and singing at the same time, assuming these are recorded songs and not...

    The Next Step

I've been playing on and off (mostly on) for the last ten years. I started in an all-original band with friends/family and had fun, but never progressed as a player beyond root notes and very basic fills. After a year or more away I began backing a singer/songwriter in small bars and coffee...

    First Bass for Adult ??

I have to agree with most people on here. Squier or Ibanez. My first bass was a Ibanez Gio with two knobs and 4 strings and no other identifying marks. I received it USED as a birthday present from my then-girlfriend. I played it for about about 5 years before getting a better one. In my...

What kind of strings do you use?

So far I like D'Addario Black Chromes on my Ibanez SR-755. But I used to use Rotosound Flatwounds and liked them a lot too. I keep trying different strings and each one is hard to tell apart for me. I've been going by feel, and flatwounds feel good to me, especially on the neck of the SR-755.

Best musical advice you ever got

"Play with people better than you" - many people My advice = "Also play with people worse than you." Not out of arrogance, but it really helped me transition from a novice student to an experienced "teacher". I'm not a great bassist but playing different roles in different bands really...
