Fender Bassman 800HD 800-watt Hybrid Bass Head

These (and the Super Bassman) do not have the ability to blend the vintage and overdrive channels together- The “blend” knob only affects the amount of the “gain” knob into the overdrive channel.

    Ampeg SVT seventies

O.P.’s great- grandkids might benefit from this info for the amp they inherited.

Another “what amp would you run with this cab?” thread

I picked up a used Quilter BB800 (for $450.00) as a pedal board mounted backup for my Fender Super Bassman. As a long-time tube amp snob I’m rather shocked by how much I like it.

Those interesting cabinets/amps Ampeg made in the 1990's

Don’t forget the 1540 cabinet-A fridge cab with 4 10”s on top and a 15” on bottom. Of course pre-Talkbass I thought this was the ideal cab. I still dug it running it with each half split into an Acoustic 370 head (which could be run at 2 ohms). I did have to recone (finally replace) the 15” more...

    Q: Fender Super Bassman?

The blend knob doesn’t blend the vintage channel and the overdrive channel, it blends the gain from the overdrive channel. It is not possible to run both channels at once (as it can be on a vintage 2 channel SVT or VR).

[Poll] Who is truly interested in a 70s Precision reissue?

Seemed like EVERYONE in the 70’s swapped out whatever Fender put in for a Dimarzio Model P (was there anything else?). That’s the sound of a 70’s P to me, and still my favorite pickup.

Fender Super Bassman and Neo 810

Forgot to say I have the Super Bassman head as well as a Fender 610 Neo. I’ve had it going on 8 years, original tubes, and have had no issues. Bought the rig brand new, never hearing it other than the Fender Matt Freeman video. No regrets buying this rig sight unseen, sound unheard. Both...

Fender Super Bassman and Neo 810

I have the 610 Neo, and I was ( and still) an Ampeg 810 user. When using the Fender 610 I don’t even miss having 2 more speakers closer to ear level. It envelopes the whole room with sound, definitely my favorite cab ever.

What’s the smallest vehicle you’ve fit an 8x10 into?

Multiple VW Golfs/GTIs (2 door & 4 door). Rear seat folded down. Only issue was once I closed the hatch without having the cab pushed far enough forward, and shattered the rear hatch glass with the towel bar on the SVT. Oops.

The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

I doubt Fender has stayed in business for decades by aggravating customers and wasting money shipping 65lb heads back and forth. Also doubt that they have “pallets” full of returned Super Bassmans. I have heard of very few issues regarding the Super Bassman ( though early editions of the 100T...

My fixed/ss ‘08 Schwinn Madison. Built when you could still get a nice bike from a Schwinn dealer, before they went to only much less quality ones at Wal-Mart: My ‘87 Schwinn Paramount (Waterford-built, Dura Ace equipped) & ‘68 Schwinn Paramount track) ( obscured by my ‘78 Ibanez ((hey, this is...

Ampeg SVT 350H - lighter/smaller alternative without losing power

I’d go with a SVT 7 if you want ( better) Ampeg tone in a smaller package.
