Just to revive an old thread.. I actually really like the J type from Cruiser/Cruzer. I worked in an independent shop for many years, and we stocked some electrics from this stable, although we were really an acoustic shop and did loads more with Crafter acoustic. The 5ers were just about OK...

I rather like this idea, at least for the experiment.. Did you ever get anywhere with it?

That's the trouble with decimals as opposed to fractions.. .0625" seems like a very confusing way of saying 1/16"! I agree that 1/16 (and most likely evenn 1/8") either way will probably be inaudible, but it's a starting point.

No sign of the 4s resurfacing, sadly. I still have the 200 and the 600, now both with 17mm bridge spacing. The 600 gets gigged regularly. I just don't want a 5 or 6 string fretted.

I've had a sciatic condition for about 12 years now, and yet it's not so much the weight that matters to me but the balance. My most regular bass is an Overwater Jazz 5 which is about 11 pounds in swamp ash, but once it's strapped on it's so well balanced it kinda disappears! I do use straps...

You could well be right and that one be 2005; I was going by a site listing Ibanez s/nos. I'll try to find the link again.

You should be fine, Macro; my three 4-strings all started out with 19mm spacing. I actually want to get that down to 5-string spacing.. To be certain, ask the seller.

Got any mates who are in engineering or metalwork? I work in a music shop, and I've not heard of spare parts being available. However to an engineer it's probably really easy to make the relevant bit..

Here's my threesome so far.. BTB 200 (Indonesian '07), 400QM (Korean '95) and 600 (Japan '99) in the middle. I just scored a Schaller 2000 adjustable bridge on Ebay, so that's now showing on the 200. Current spacing set at 17mm, sooo comfy! I've dropped a set of EMG J pickups into the 600...

Different models (possibly different years, too!) vary in spacings.. my first BTB was the BTB200 pictured in an earlier post.. really narrow nut. I've since picked up a BTB400QM and a MIJ BTB600.. two different nut widths again! The bridge spacing is the same on each of these; shame really as...
