Who here rocks a single 15?

Maton basses. You don't see those very often:-)

Who here rocks a single 15?

Apologies I was looking at the newer version. Yours has a -10db notch (narrow cut), adjustable between 50 & 1kHz. AR recommend setting it at 1 O'Clock for 'Traditional Bass'. 12 O'Clock (250Hz cut) for slap. It looks like you cannot switch it off. Acoustic B100 10 W 1×10" Bass Guitar Combo...

    Yes, 400WRMS.

Who here rocks a single 15?

My understanding of the Owners Manual is that the Notch filter (frequency choice) is disabled when the Shape button is Out. And a 10db cut when In.

30 song live audition - Not much fun for me

Hmm. Have you considered that you may have just been filling in for their regular bassist? In my experience it's very unusual for an outgoing band member not to give notice, unless there's been a major upset. And, a paid gig with a new member, without a rehearsal? Amateurs! Either way my...

    Time to eat some crow

I couldn't agree more. If the store staff aren't tuning their guitars occasionally what do they do all day? With this lack of service I'm not surprised their customers go On-Line.

    19mm EBMM 5 string: fact / fiction?

It's a niche (read expensive) market, but there are some wide spaced 5s available. i.e. Warwick offer a broad neck (20mm spacing) option on their Customshop basses. https://shop.warwick.de/media/pdf/33/3e/ac/5-20BN-20String-20Warwick-20Bridge-20T-20B-3dm3UuAnq8FQ16nn.pdf

What Bass Guitar is the G.O.A.T

For those of you that (like me) didn't understand the acronym, GOAT is Greatest Of All Time.

If you couldn't play Bass anymore......

    I would be very sad

What? A J- bass won't cut through the mix???

I assume when you say "gain" you mean volume, otherwise you'll overdrive your pre-amp. Anyway, the answer to being heard is to produce frequencies that aren't already swamped by others in the band. For bassists this usually requires a boost to your mids (or reduce Bass & Treble EQs), which as...

Have you ever boiled your bass strings?

Back in the 70s I used to boil my strings to renew them. Drying them in the sun prevented rusting. These days I play Warwick EMP nano-coated roundwounds. They don't absorb finger gunk, so I change them every year or two coz I can afford to, not because I can hear any difference.:-)

How often do you play your bass around the house without amplification?

Practicing unamplified is not recommended because it creates muscle memory of plucking/picking/slapping/popping too hard. If noise is an issue during your practice sessions, use headphones.

Proof that the neck has a big impact in tone.

I agree. The only way to compare a necks affect on tone is for every other component to be exactly the same.

3 steps to making your new cab sound amazing!

Thank you AgedHorse. As Development Engineer-Mesa, Product Support-Genz Benz, I would assume you know more than us mere players. My take-away message from all these comments is that 'breaking in' speakers is not necessary and has no measurable benefit, but if you believe it does, go ahead.
