    Club Sadowsky!!!

I absolutely love DR sunbeams on all of my basses. They sound especially good on my NYC Verdine White. I tried hi beams on it but they were crazy bright for my tastes, Sunbeams are just right.

Hey thanks for that, I kind of have a love hate relationship with drives as well. I quite like gritty edge of break up sounds and but really love a pristine clean sound. The Sadowsky does growl a fair bit and has a pretty mean pick sound all on its own. I am going to spend some time...

Thanks Vic That is really helpful, modelling is certainly option as some effects can be pretty useful. The reason I am asking Sadowsky owners is that I hear of many people saying that they can just plug into the board and the engineer has very little to do, and the bass cuts through great. I...

Thanks for that, I think that is a great approach and a nice board. I have been wondering about tubes to add an extra dimension to my tone… The SLO looks a great option. I will experiment with the Tonehammer as I think the AGS not only gives out some harmonic richness but some nice compression...

Am hoping that some of the Sadowsky experts on here can advise me… Do you tend to go with just a DI to front of house or do you add another preamp inline such as a Tonehammer/BDDI/etc I used my NYC PJ at church yesterday straight into a Di with some HPF and LPF from the desk and it seemed to...

    Club Sadowsky!!!

Going back a couple of years I had the fortune of being able to pick up a used but totally mint NYC Satin series Verdine White. Foolishly I let it go and instantly regretted it. Anyway, I was talking to my local dealer a couple of weeks back (Bassbros in the UK) (who are totally awesome) and...

It can be dialed out, and a lot easier on V2 compared to V1 from memory. I think it is quite a versatile pedal actually if you have the patience to experiment. Not sure if it will stay at this point but certainly a nice toy to play with.

I have been playing around with theBDDI blend control at home through my in ears and it really is a very powerful tool. I think 9 o clock is quite a nice full range sound with a good growl. Am not a big fan of too much presence, it make the sound very clanky… not my thing. Am running that at...

I went down the Helix route at a similar time to you I believe but very quickly realised that I just wanted a very simple setup with little to no effects. I also prefer analog sound compared to digital. Having said that I bet the congregation can’t tell what I am using!

I managed to pick up a BDDI v2 this week and took it to church to see what it was like through the system on Wednesday.Cant believe I have slept on this one for so long! All in all I think I am quite impressed and certainly prefer it to the Origin Super Vintage and the Tonehammer DI. The blend...

That is great info thank you. I totally agree with your point about flat response gear. It really isn’t mix ready! Having something that is just plug and play can take the stress out of setup and sound check

Has anyone tried BDDI v2? V1 was a touch scooped especially with high blend settings but the demos of V2 that I have heard sound a lot more natural.

I agree with you on how a good Precision doesn’t really need a lot of help. I took just my tonehammer and a tuner on a rockboard 2.0 this Sunday and didn’t miss overdrive, synth or anything else that I could have added. I think there is a real freedom in turning up minimal and just enjoying...

I think at 9 o clock the frequency is 385hz

Thank you for your lengthy reply. I can see where you are coming from with the mids, the pedals controls are indeed very interactive with AGS engaged. There is a very strong relationship between gain and mids, and that mid push can be quite uncomfortable. I have added a photo of my typical AGS...
