I’ve found that in my living room, the WD800 has a similar vibe to the walkabout but can’t really match its magic. At a gig with full band, for me at least, the walkabout struggles to reproduce that very magic as the volume goes up. But the WD800 at gig volume seems to capture that magic...

Thanks to all mob folks! My questions are answered and a fellow mob man and I are going to swap our EMGs and Barts. Here’s a couple of pics of my Q5, which I got from another mobster, bubinga top and chechen fingerboard.

Thanks Drew, yeah I found some on their site, the only problem is there are several to choose from and I just want to confirm I pick the correct one. I’m not an expert solderer but good enough to handle this if I don’t have to keep redoing it because I picked the wrong terminals.

Yup! But unlike the emg modular connections I think I’ll have to solder the pickup leads to the bart preamp and I want to be sure I do it right, so I’d love to see a Barts cavity setup.

Anyone have some pics of the cavity on a Bart equipped Q5? I’d like to have an idea of what I need it to look like if I swap Barts in for the EMGs. Thanks!

I’ve been using a Mesa WD800 and occasionally my trusty old Walkabout. Either of them play beautifully with the TFs.

I liked my TF112 so much I got another. The pair embodies synergism to a level I really wasn’t expecting: the combination is a lot greater than the sum of the individuals. Absolutely brilliant! Smooth and clear and punchy and articulate and everything I want in my rig. I’m in tone heaven.

Looks pretty sweet aboard a pair of Trickfish TF112s too....

Just a thought, but maybe a short extension cable male to female would work?

These are a pair of EMG 40CS pickups in excellent condition. I am the original owner, bought new direct from EMG. Barely used, work perfectly, and look great, although you can see some light marks in the string positions. Includes the wiring that came with them and the original boxes. $100...

Hmmm, I’d swap you the DC’s but I guess that wouldn’t work sizewise for either of us. Oh well....
