    It might be that it's not darkening, instead, the top side is fading (wood will naturally fade intill it's silver). But that's just my guess.

    I know that you have said that you don't want to make this your job and that it takes to long to be reasonably priced, but let's say that hypothetically I was to commission a bass, what would I be looking at? Also, how much would it cost for me to do-it-myself?
