It doesn't look like it's a current production model but Marleaux has made a Marleaux/Pagelli along the lines of the legendary Gold Bass.

Its a '66. I have no idea what the numbers are. I have since replaced the chair leg strap button with a regular strap button. Its got a really nice neck and the pickups are no name but sound really good.

Didn't notice that! (funny!)

...and his 'iva' fretless is inspired by the Pagelli.
The marleaux Pagelli is a nice bass. Not foe me, but nice!

I'm not sure who built it (I want to say his TB user name was Dark something?) but it was a Bo Didley style homebuilt rectangle bass made from an old sign with a belt buckle for a tailpiece. It was his TB avatar for awhile. Wish I could find it. I think he lived/gigged in the Nashville area. Anyone? Would love to see a photo of that bass again. It was too cool.

It was DarkHorse, I'd imagine.
He's an Austinite, and a right cool dude.

he's playing a pale metallic purple bass w/green strings that has a similar body as the gold-leafed one at 4:00 in the first vid. It looks pretty thin which is cool.

...or better still I'd love to play it! I'm guessing piezo pu's somewhere (in the string ferrules?) as it doesn't appear to have a bridge or a nut! (although I see the strings separated at the nut area, so maybe it's dark like the fb) Talk about extended range!

I was surprised at how heavy and damped down feeling the one I played was....10+ lbs? And not a great deal of acoustic volume or open, airy resonance. Huge sounding through an amp though.
