    4001 vs. Guild B-301 - Which should I borrow for a gig?

I love the B301 and B302. Borrowed them from friends a few times and they always sound like if you deep-fried a precision bass. Rick's have never hit for me, but it probably won't be as heavy. Guild all the way.

    No longer available Mesa D800

Offering up my D800. I'm not the original owner but have had no issue with it in the past year and I'm only looking to scratch a specific itch. Looking for an SVT7PRO to trade this towards. I'd be happy to consider other equivalent heads like Ashdown ABMs and or Aguilar Tone Hammers, but I'm...

SOLD Lakland Skyline Decade - Price dropped

Thank you for the good vibes! Luckily it's nothing life threatening, just timely.

SOLD Lakland Skyline Decade - Price dropped

Original seller quoted it at 8.8lbs, but I can reweigh it after work tonight. Strings are Labella stainless that are decently broken in, but still lively.

SOLD Lakland Skyline Decade - Price dropped

Selling my Lakland Skyline Decade, would love to keep it but needing some medical care for my 1 year old. Pickups sound fantastic, bridge is punchy as hell, neck is overtly thick, and both blended is smooth and great for pick-style. The neck feels as good as any bass I've played and is thin and...

Analog fans: What’s keeping you from digital in 2021?

I did an HX Stomp last year after having an HXFX and a couple things made me switch back. 1) I once lost signal from the Stomp during a hot outdoor gig which was a deal breaker. Wound up working later when I got home, but since it was the brain of my rig I couldn't let that happen again. 2) I...

    Instrument to Line Level

In general yes, but you can use a 1/4" to XLR adapter if need be for the monitor back from the FOH. Your DI can feed the rolls first and then pass through to FOH from the Mic Out, if I'm understanding you correctly. But the PM351 may be a better option since it has a dedicated 1/4" instrument...

    Instrument to Line Level

I can vouch for the Rolls units. I've had a few of them including the PM351 and the PM55P (which has a limiter to save your ears) and never had an issue sending instrument level signals to the 1/4" inputs. Alternatively take your DI out to the Mic In on whichever one and then use the XLR pass...

    Monitoring through your rig?

Thanks for all your input folks! The responses are right about what I expected and keep along with what I had worked out in my head. Maybe I should clarify a bit; I run corporate A/V primarily focusing on the "A" part of the job, so things like mic vs monitor placement, frequency response...

    Monitoring through your rig?

Hey y'all. Got a hypothetical for you. Since COVID hit and gigs are down I've been rethinking how I wanna run a stage setup and I'm remembering the fights to get monitors in some less than well-equipped venues. I'm realizing with my Subway D800, I can run an external line level signal into the...

    Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

I can't say for sure, but I think it is. IIRC, The SCR-DI shares the BA pre and its marketing also boasts the "Legacy Preamp". So I'd wager it's a safe bet, or at least the jump off point.

    Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

I'd be excited to try one out when the 12's are available. Clips sounded good on the Ampeg site and it'd be nice to load a small lightweight combo for rehearsals. I always hate having to set up and tear down equipment on tight schedules, so this scratches most of my itches.

    Tone Hammer DI appreciation thread

I bought a THDI for the second time to work purely as a drive pedal which it excels at it, but I just discovered I can run it last in chain switched off as a standard DI and then switch it on (post-eq ofc) and have it switch to the eq'd drive sound by engaging the pedal! I don't know why but I...

Help me decide, overdrive content (Moollon, Aguilar, Darkglass)

I'd most likely go for the Agro because it sounds good while remaining simple. But i'd hunt for a used Tone Hammer DI instead honestly, the 3 band eq and range of the AGS circuit make it really flexible for vintage to modern pop-rock tones. I prefer its flavor over the Darkglass, but couldn't...

Thanks for the bump! It's super cool how versatile this is, even on low gain settings. I hope you are loving yours!
