Not to be argumentative, but Fender didn't begin producing instruments in Mexico until 1990, I believe. From an article I read, "Fender’s first price list to show Mexico-made guitars was dated January 1st 1991."

That's pretty cool. I know all D'Addario brand strings have a hex core, whether wound round, half round, or flat around the core.

My 1978 Jazz didn't have foam in the bridge cover. When did that stop? I thought it was in the 60s, and I never heard of it on the Jazz, only Precision before now. Not that I'm an expert, I'm not saying it didn't, just saying I personally hadn't seen it.
