    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I think you are talking about the Galli Ukulele Bass BLACK NYLON UXB810. I have had them on my Kala solidbody SUB since December 2018. They are great strings and there is still zero wear on them.

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I use this to attach the strap to the headstock of my acoustic Kala. https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Acoustic-Guitar-Quick-Release-System/dp/B0002GWFEQ

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I use them and they are nylon coated roundwound strings. I have had a set on a U-Bass SUB since December 2018 and there is no wear on them. I like them better than any metallic string so far. I did not like the Kala roundwounds at all. They wore out very quickly. I have not tried the Galli/Kala...

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

Kala needs trash the crappy bridge they have on their solid bodies and go with a conventional bridge with individual saddles with a piezo in each saddle. There would be completely adjustable string height and action. If they don't do it someone else should. I would have done it long ago if not...

Why So Nasty? — TB Etiquette

The increase in rudness, impatience and snarkiness on TB is simply a parallel of society in general .Also, TB has always been very cliqueish. Certain people only interact with each other. I've been on TB since 1998 but I rarely post and these days I use TB only occasionally.

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

My experience with the Galli strings is the opposite of yours, I love them. The tension and feel are fantastic. Also, because of the nylon wrap there is no corrosion, unlike the metal strings and I have had them on since the end o December. I have the on my solid SUB. I had to do a work around...

    $67 Glarry P-Bass

A finished bass body alone is a gret deal at this price.

    Stage attire 2019

I play in 17 piece big band and a 7 piece jazz combo. For most gigs it's black suit, white shirt, black bow tie. It's very uncomfortable but that's what is expected. If we play outside in more informal situations we go with more casual clothes.

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I recently got a set of the Galli strings. I will install them on my U-Bass SUB. Currently Galli doesn't make a set for the solid bodies but I have a work around that I used on the metal Pyramid strings before they made sets for the solidbodies. My favorite non-metallic strings are the Thunder...

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I love the Thunder Reds on my Mahogany acoustic. In my opinion they are the best non-metallic strings. On my SUB I like the Kala roundwounds.

Best bag or case for cables/misc gear?

I use that type of bag. It works perfectly. I think it was about $5 at a thrift store.

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I've used the Thunder Reds on my mahogany acoustic since Feb. 2014. I tried all the other non-metallic strings and these are my favorite, by far. On my SUB I use the Kala metal strings.

    Kala UBass Megathread, Part 7

I also considered replacing the bridge on my SUB with simple generic Fender style but I read somewhere, not sure if it was TB, that would not work with non-metallic strings. In the end I modified the rosewood SUB bridge by sanding it down at each end (where it sits on the two bridge posts) in...
