A journey from fuzz to overdrive.

You blend your clean sound with effected sound, like in a mixing board. ;)

    Mxr Blue Box Fuzz/Octaver

Blue box is cool after mod. Realy loud and opened sound. From gated fuzz to mad fuzz to noise box. Great.

    Boss OS-2

I think, that os-2 will suck your low end. Try boss odb-3. It is realy heavy overdrive/distortion with full low end.

Pedal recommendations please (Phaser, Delay, poss. Overdrive)

mxr script phase is very deep on bass. It's not that synthy like a stock phase 90 but more deep and works even on E string.

    hip-hop synth bass effect??

Fuzz+octaver gives very cool funky/hip-hop synth sound, uf you play around 12-th frets. But I like to use octaver AFTER fuzz, so you get mor clear synthy tone! And some envelope or phaser is very good idea. Now I can get cool sound with MXR blowtorch + phase 90 in slow sweep.

Pedal for ugly solid state distortion/clipping?

I think for soli state type clipping you must choose some fuzz. But the fab tone is realy cool, nasty and fuzzy-type, but this is DISTORTION.

    Digitech BSW Current Draw

Battery CAN'T power 500mA. You read information about ADAPTER, not the pedal. It's a very common error. Special for you, information from bossarea, same information you can find in boss pedal manual. Boss DD-6 Specifications Controls: E.Level, F.Back, D.Time, 6-way Mode Switch...

    Digitech BSW Current Draw

I hate that poor manuals. Boss and dunlop manuals has more information. But I thhink, that actual the current draw is about 100 mA. 800 mA pedals would not work with battery. It's a HUGE current draw.

    dc brick hum

I don't know English names, but adapters can be "impulse" or "stabilized". Impulse adapter will create AC hum about 50 Hz.
