The price you pay is in roadworthiness. It only takes quite a thin layer of glass to be strong enough if noone touches the cabinet. Its pretty obvious, IME and inexpert opinion, if a cab badly needs extra bracing. Turn the volume up a fair bit and feel how much the panels are moving. Ideally compare to a good commercial cab to get a baseline, but if there's a big difference between the smallest and largest panels it probably...

To my mind it's better to buy a dual speakon/jack plate, and enlarge the cutout in the cabinet if necessary. Easier for some of us to cut wood than metal, and its useful to have both connectors available if you still have - or may acquire - older or cheaper amps.
