Agree, two switches gives you better options if you want that. Or a switch like the freeway, while more expensive, gives you all the options in one multi-switch unit.

It is probably a mini toggle switch, and you can find the same fit, just in a 6-terminal DPDT type. If you get a On-On version, you can select between series and parallel, or if you get an on-on-on (3 position. Still 6 terminal DPDT), then you can have series, parallel, plus a single coil...

My strings arrived (with the usual candy from sweetwater), so it's a legit deal.

As of this past week. Sweetwater has new sets of Steinberger Double Ball strings. I'd guess a factory run was made, and there might be stock around for now.

I just received two on-on switches for my Ray4HH, to add in parallel - serial options. Open the back plate, and take a look between those knobs, the wood makes a little tight depending on the size of the switch body. I'm leaning toward putting the two switches between the bass eq and the jack...

Looking at replacing the 40P5 in my steinberger (sits exactly where a Stingray 4HH bridge pickup is), with a 40TW. Glad I found this thread. BTW - EMGs solution attached above is exactly equal to the 25K pot solution listed earlier, reducing the dual-coul output by 2/3rds.

I keep two of these on hand, one in my stingray, the other in the case. I simply swap them every 6 months just like regular batteries, and keep the "spare" charged when I take it out, and just before putting it back in, so it's always ready. Also, I've measured the output...the 9v Lithium Ion...

My 5-string Synapse headpiece failed for non-double-ball strings as many others have, and thought I'd just drop a note that Sweetwater, as an acting repair shop for Gibson, can get the needed SHP-101 part for $96 (as of this posting). I don't know of a 3rd party replacement that is a better...
