No. Simplest way to explain, The preamp can be bypassed or turned on. When turned on, you can only boost highs and mids. There is no conventional "tone" control, because it only boosts = you cannot reduce the highs at all, as you might expect with a conventional passive bass tone control...

I've converted everything I own to active. I play them into preamp pedals. I honestly do have preamps on preamps. There - I've admitted it. I'm aggressively avoiding passive.
