Looking for a bass practice device (headphones) with an Aux in

I have a Palmer pocket bass amp, that does the job you are asking about. In addition it can serve as a DI and a pre amp for your pedalboard. Not to expensive, especially on the used market. Simple, but versatile.

Help me chose among budget friendly di/preamps

I do not know this device first hand, but it gets a lot of good reports here in Norway and Europe. a different take on the drive pedal, I think. SkarBassOne | Trondheim Audio Devices

The "Official" MTD (non-US made) Club Part 3

That looks familiar, except that the noe I have borrowed only has noe blue trim pot. The preamp is a Bartollini marked MTD-G, buffered tone shaper. It’s also worth mentioning the logo on the headstock, saying “licensed by Michael Tobias Design”. No serial number, which I understand is common...

The "Official" MTD (non-US made) Club Part 3

It looks to me like @foal30's Grendel in these pictures has a different preamp, than the majority. Is it correct that the pot closest to the output jack is a single pot, and not stacked? Could it also be that the mid switch is two way instead of three way? the reason I ask is that i have in my...

Tales from FB Marketplace and Craigslist (JUST FOR FUN!)

I got snagged in the inverted number 4 (mislisting) a while back on a norwegian sales site. The seller listed a Blackstar Unity 250 combo with the powered extension cab for the equivalent of $200. I told him I was interested, to wich he replied he would not sell it for less than $500... The $200...

    Yeah, another headphone amp question...

I had a similar, but yet slightly different approach a couple of years ago, and ended up with a Palmer pocket amp. Kind of a swiss knife I think. It's a preamp pedal with aux in, headphones out, FX loop and a DI, wich is rather good actually, considering the prize...

Please help - First four frets on e-string sound bad

Could it be that the tight fit of the nut slot keeps the string from making full contact with the zero- fret that this bass has? Thus creating a buzz/ rattle.

Texting before every Band Rehearsal...Should I???

In my humble opinion, the "grown up" thing to do here, would be to adress this incident on the next rehersal. I would then suggest a group chat or group text, where everybody has a mutual responcibility to give notice if they can't make it to practice, as soon as they know. That way, you have...

wintremute 's NAMM 2023 "every bass" thread.

I have no first hand experience with this pedal, that where introduced a year or so ago here in Norway I have, however read some reviews and comments in norwegian forums, and they are basically all raving about the versatility and quality of this pedal. A link to their webpage: SkarBassOne |...

    [help/suggestion] Fender bass neck shim

Just felt like throwing in a picture of the neck pocket on my '83 JV Jazz. The shim has obviously been there from the birth of this bass.

    Single-Digit Club!

Bought my first bass in 1987 or 1988. Still have that, although it does noe get much playing time these days. Bought my second in 2018 (I think it was). still looking slowly for a number 3, and 4. ;)

Looking for a preamp for headphone practice with a USB out for recording

I recently bought a Palmer pocket amp https://www.thomann.de/gb/palmer_pocket_amp_bass.htm simple piece of gear that I believe checks most of your boxes (excluding USB connectivity). Have not used it much yet, but seems ok so far, given it's relatively low price.

Name songs that are fitting to be heard at a desolate gas station

This could be an alternative, i think. I think it's a darn fine song as well!:woot:

    3 Bass Limit

A quiver of three is something i have been thinking about on and off for some time, actually. The list changes, but at the moment it looks something like this: My trusty JV Jazz, which I would have a hard time parting with, due to its remarkable playability, and the fact that i bought it dirt...
