Pretty simple to restring without the hatch.... Send the string into the bridge first Fish the end out of the soundhole Tie the knot Pull the un-knotted side of the string up, and attach to the tuning peg I can make a quick video, or take a few photos and post them if anyone needs...

We have been asked by a multitude of folks about a soundhole suppression solution for the Acoustic UBasses with 3" soundholes. We are producing a simple soundhole plug that we call the FEEDBACK FREEZER, and it will be availble in a few weeks for $9.99. More info here...

TalkBass UBass fans, I have subscribed to this thread and am working on going through all the posts from the previous UBass Megathreads. It is my intention to learn more about how you the end-users are using the Kala UBass, and what your issues or concerns (if any) are with the instrument...

Tim, Aquila is currently working on Thundergut strings for 5 String. Once those are available we will customize the terminations for UBass. Keep in mind that when the Italians say coming soon, they really mean coming eventually ;)
