    Heaviest Bass You've Ever Owned?

my 72 p weighs pretty much that. I don't play it much any more.

Fender P, low output making it unuseable........

that looks like it. also, on the volume knob, I'm not sure if that third lug should be grounded. I could be wrong about that but you're right. that jack looks iffy.

Should I send it back? Opinions, please!

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's getting in the way of your playing. make up a good story on how it got there, it may get a good laugh. before too long there will be a lot of scrapes, scuffs, scratches, chips, dents, dings and other imperfections. each one with its own story to...

Can this Band be Saved / Changed?

it appears that you have two choices here. 1) be happy you have a steady paying gig and distance yourself from the boredom of the three chord nonsense. after that many years, these guys will not change for you or anyone else. 2) call it a day and leave. with that much experience under your belt...

    So… who’s not using a compressor at all ?

don't use any pedals, I like the sound of all my basses as they are. more cords and batteries to go bad.

NBD - '71 Precision back in the fold

I still have my 72 p, although I put the neck on my 62 p because it was chunky and the maple worked well with the butterscotch. the 62 neck is on the 72.

No flat wound strings allowed with fretted basses?

it was the second song of a 4 hour night, p-bass with flats. the g string broke at the nut and unravelled in front of my middle finger as I was sliding up the fret board. it sliced the tip to the bone, (still sport the scar) played the entire night bleeding like hell. the only bass I'll put...

It's 1970, you have some decent money in your pocket....which large bass rig do you buy?

    I had a 471 with 2 406 transducers (2-15s apiece). wish I had that rig back.

You get one song to listen to for the rest of your life. What is it?

my favorite from that album is "hot 'Lanta".
