Another 6 string Squier Deluxe Active Jazz 6 string DJAVI

Current Status: THE CRAZY SH**TY JAZZ SOLOING BIT!!! Anyway, here is a soundcloud clip of it. I recorded it in like 10 minutes, and it was all improvised. I have also been sanding a lot today, and my girly arms hurt, so I could barely hit notes, let alone the right ones, at the right time...

Static noise, known problem, cant fix...

Hey, there are essentially 2 wires from the mec. Cutting away the first layer of insulator, there is wire wrapped around another wire with insulator between them. Which wires do you mean? Just the 2 (from the mec) attched to the blend pot, or the one that is screwed into the body, under the...

Static noise, known problem, cant fix...

So on my squier deluxe active Jazz, which I have almost finished modding to a 6 string, I have the original pickup in the neck cavity, and a passive MEC bridge pickup (yeah probably not great to have 2 different pickups, but Im waiting for the pennies for the next one :(). So this has always...

    Adding on a string?

Im currently in the process of adding a 6th string to my 5 string squier jazz like this: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f57/squier-deluxe-jazz-active-6-string-yep-pics-391653/index5.html It does already have pretty wide spacing though, so its going to be a narrow 6er. what is the spacing like...

repainting the head on my Squier Jazz deluxe

have attached it. I was basically trying to remove the Squier bit with some diluted Acetone, and since it worked to remove some of the black writing on the back (just took of the made indonesia), I thought it would be okay.... I wanted the logo gone just because I didn't like having some of it...

repainting the head on my Squier Jazz deluxe

So, during my current 6 string conversion, I have managed to make a pretty poor job of the headstock, and I think the best route is just to clear off the current, and repaint. Can anyone help on how to go about this. Im guessing very fine 4/600 grit paper? plenty of coats of white, then a...

What did you do with your first bass?

people would be horrified to hear what I did to mine.... Its a Peavey BXP milestone I think. was sunburst... Thats until the sandpaper came alone, along with a chisel, some fire, white spirit, a butter knife (defret) and various other things. Needless to say, I am very slowly bringing it back...

Squier Deluxe Jazz Active 6-string? Yep! (pics)

Also, How should I go about drilling the new hole. All I have is a hand help cordless drill... Am I likely to royally c**k it up and get the angle wrong or something? Cheers

Squier Deluxe Jazz Active 6-string? Yep! (pics)

Aaah cheers :) Have ordered a 3/8". So, will I also need to buy a new bushing piece? Or does the tuner come with one/some sort of washer? I have started it :D new nut and tuner will be fitted after my chemistry exam tomorrow :D Then its just waiting a couple of days for the bridge to turn up...

Squier Deluxe Jazz Active 6-string? Yep! (pics)

Im from England :p was just using inches because I thought it was consistent or something :S ha. Anyway, so what your saying is, if I buy a 9.5mm Ultralite, the ring spacer bit around the windy bit (sorry for this abhorrent terminology), will fit snugly in a 14mm hole? I understand there is...
