Well you can as you have been and it's apparently what you do? (Well, I might add..) I'm 64, not day job retired and have gigs Thurs /Fri Sat this week. The pain of them is self inflicted as I booked them all. There's no logic to it except the financial logic of making more money.

Do you have any veterans homes or organizations in your area? Hospitals or rehab centers that would appreciate entertainment? Maybe put together a duo / larger act and offer your services? It is a win/win situation for everyone involved.

It's a good amp if it doesn't get bounced around. I had one and the sound would just stop. One of the MOLEX type headers was not securing in its socket. It wouldn't stay either. Ended up selling. Seems like they spared every expense in making this amp inexpensive.

I gig all of the time with the 5 string BB235. The playability and sound easily matches basses at 3X the price.

To me Reliability is the most important factor in making or breaking a band. Without it nothing else matters. Talent is secondary - I am living proof you can be successful with a low amount of that.............

It sounds like he wants to come to your practice space to audition you. All pros do that.
