I would have liked to participated in that discussion. But I won't say what side I'd have taken. ;)

Most polarizing discussion topic on TB

I don't read a lot of the tonewood related threads. Do they really get that hot? Maybe I should start reading them. There's nothing like some good fireworks.

Most polarizing discussion topic on TB

Thus the inspiration for this thread/poll. A lot of these are good suggestions, but there are only a few topics which get people's blood boiling by the end of the first page of replies. ;) What are some others I should have added to the poll?

What topic causes the most heated discussions on TB and gets people the most passionate?:spit::rollno::bawl::mad::help: I'm voting relic basses.

One way to deal with piracy

Agreed. People who see a value in a CD will pay for the CD, whereas people who do not value the CD will pirate it. The ability to make a perfect copy of a musical recording on a CD is available to the majority of people now. As an interesting thought experiment, ask yourself how many...

    Whats going on with Rickenbacker?

Many manufacturing plants shut down for two weeks. They use the down time for maintenance of their machinery and tools that are in use the rest of the year.

    Organ sound with Micro POG?

I was noodling around in the music store a short time ago and tried my bass into my Micro POG then into the store's POG2. It sounded like I was in church. It was a huge, full organ sound. I'd like to hear what an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe into a POG2 would sound like.

    The Effect Builders Club!

Sorry if this has been posted before, but nothing came up in a Google search of the site. Anyone interested in learning about op amps can download the book "Op Amps For Everyone" by Ron Mancini for free at the Texas Instruments website. The PDF file is about 2MB. [Invalid or Expired Link...

    Show Your Orange Basses!

I have not seen a bad looking bass in this thread. Here's my Yamaha BB414 in metallic orange.

    Show me your Yamaha BBs!

Thanks, Buskman! I love it so far. The music store I went to carries Peavey, Schecter, and Yamaha and the BB414 blew the other brands away. The variety of sounds this bass makes is awesome. With the P pup soloed and the treble rolled all the way off, I get a smooth, low, Barney Miller bass...
