Whats going on with Rickenbacker?

Many manufacturing plants shut down for two weeks. They use the down time for maintenance of their machinery and tools that are in use the rest of the year.

correct. A manufacturer also can't give part of a manufacturing team a vacation. It will still shut down the line. So.....they all get vacation at the same time.

I used to work for an auto parts supplier that made frame components. We would have a paid 2 week July shutdown and paid 2 week Christmas shutdown.

The main advantage is to let the maintenance / engineering crews do critical tear down retrofits, and updates that they just cant do during production.

So basically if you work in one of those shops you don't get to choose when you take your time off, the choice is made for you.

I would hate that. But I guess it's better than no paid vacation (or permanent vacation, i.e., no job).

yeah, but were both weeks of vacation matched? or did those fiends at ric corporate skimp on their employees?

what, too soon? :hyper:
