    Do modeling amp heads exist?

I can't say enough good about my Kemper Power Head. Not cheap, but if you have the scratch it is a decent value with great support. It is an even better value for someone like myself who doubles on guitar.

    music decades

I'm a fan of much of the 20th century, depending on my mood. This century may require more digging to find the nuggets, but they are there if you look and listen.

Anybody else use a cheaper bass as their Number 1?

The older model Squier Jaguar SS is my number one for rock. I use a CIJ Mustang for Americana, country and blues usually. I see no need to overpay as both are well set up and play cleanly all the way up. I figure that if I add a hollowbody like a Hofner Ignition Club, I could be completely...

Who Else Uses Thinner Picks Than Their Guitarist?

I use a pick about 70% of the time on bass and about 80% on guitar. I like much thicker than above for both bass and guitar (usually 1mm+ for either but occasionally .88mm on some guitars). Horses for courses and all of that. I've seen great players play with thin and thick picks, and...

Can anyone recommend flatwounds for a squire classic vibe 60’s mustang.

+1 to the above. I've had the same set on my Mustang for years and they are everything I could want in a true flatwound.

Did I do the Wrong Thing?

I can't resist biting. Definitely one of my top 10 favorites, but never had the chance to see them. I'd agree that is true, but I do believe that the drummer (Rick something?) has been with the touring band since before Godley and Creme departed, and was on most if not all of the lps after...

I showed this to my accountant. She said, "nice try."

What kind of necks do you like?

As a rule: Thin but not too thin. 1.5 nut. Rosewood or Ebony. 7.25 radius is preferred (esp. if the nut is wider than 1.5). But, rules have been broken. All the specs put together determine comfort and 'speed'.

    Favorite Microphones

I have liked a Sm57 better than a 58 (side by side) on my (baritone if it matters) voice as well. As I remember, Shure claims that they are nearly identical mics other than the grill/foam windscreen. Maybe it is just my particular microphones as they have definitely around the block a few...

Did I do the Wrong Thing?

People should do what makes them happy. That said, I would never sub out of a gig to see a concert, even if they resurrected the two dead Beatles or the original 10CC reunited.

    Obviously he's a bass player...

Although I do not wear a hat that often, I inherited a few pretty cool vintage hats from my grandfather (and have bought a few more modern ones since then). If I had a nickel for every time a beautiful woman commented on a hat as a conversation starter... Something for all of the stone hurlers...

    Obviously he's a bass player...

Outside, yes. Inside, no. Issue = hat head, so I avoid wearing outside if I know I will be inside on stage later.

Modeling/profiler amp - Helix? Axe FX? Kemper? Neural?

I love my Kemper, never have had any issues and the support is excellent. That said, I probably use 10% of its capabilities. Even as a sometimes guitar player, I have only scratched the surface. Mine is the powered head. I have tried the Stomp in store, but didn't enjoy it as much FWIW. I...
