Schematics aren't published for these amps either so if it breaks good luck getting it fixed. They were made to be disposable. I've heard of people with broken ones walking them into Guitar Center and getting a straight swap for a new one. They know what they're selling.

I'm in the same camp as the OP. Tried the SPB-3 and hated them. Muddy with the tone wide open and akin to an EB-series mudbucker with the tone completely rolled off. It's interesting because Seymour Duncan's site claims the Quarter Pounders have more mids than any of their other P-Bass...
